Documented group of an Order of the Patriotic War, Bravery Medal and a Medal for Combat Merit
Awarded to Guards Sergeant Daniil Vasilievich Boyko (Даниил Васильевич Бойко)
For exhibiting courage and initiative in the combat engagements against the German invaders. As a cook during very difficult offensive battles, he proved himself and a brave and fearless soldier by delivering food under intensive enemy fire
The group consists of the following items:
Order of the Patriotic War 2nd class #443408
Made of solid gold, silver and enamels. Measures 48.10 mm in height, 45.50 mm in width and weighs 25.4 gram without its screwplate.
In worn but decent condition. Its details are crisp and the enamels are without repairs but show a large chip on the 7 o’clock ray of the red star and several small scratches. The screw of the order has not been shortened and the order comes with its time period and well fitted screwplate.
Medal for Bravery #1151370
Made of solid silver and enamels. Measures 37.33 mm in diameter, 42.43 in height including its eyelet and weighs 26.8 gram without its suspension.
The medal is in a nice, worn condition with several dings and scratches and medium overall wear. A fair amount of the original red lacquer filling the lettering is still present although about half of it is worn off. Its connection ring has not been cut and the medal comes with its time period suspension.
Medal for Combat Merit #601946
Made of solid silver and enamels. Measures 36.91 mm in height including its eyelet, 32.20 mm in width and weighs 18.1 gram without its suspension.
In worn condition with several dings and scratches and strong overall wear. Much detail is worn off and only the red lacquer filling the lettering is all but gone. Its connection ring has not been cut and the suspension is time period to the medal.

In excellent condition with all pages present and firmly attached to the cover. The booklet is numbered No 736181 and mentions all awards above

10 documents for badges and jubilee medals. All in problem free condition and named to Sgt. Boyko.

The cook of the headquarters battery Jr.Sgt. BOYKO Daniil Vasilievich.
Bestowed for exhibiting courage and initiative in the combat engagements against the German invaders. Working as a battery cook, he provided the troops with fresh and hot meals, delivering it to promptly and reliably to the forward observation posts. He personally delivered food under intensive enemy artillery fire. There were never cases of food being delayed.
Born 1917, none part member, Ukrainian, drafted by Ashkhabad district military commissariat, not previously bestowed.

Bestowed for exhibiting courage and initiative in the combat engagements agains the German invaders. During the elimination of the German troops on the cape Khersones (Crimea), he ensured delivery of food under intensive enemy fire to the observation point, which assisted in achieving the combat objective.
Born 1917, none part member, Ukrainian, drafted by Ashkhabad district military commissariat. Previously bestowed with medal “For Combat Merits” decree №08 on 24.07.1943 by 67 artillery regiment.

Recommended for order “PATRIOTIC WAR II CLASS”
Working as a cook during very difficult offensive battles, he proved himself and a brave and fearless soldier. In the combat engagements on the approaches to the town Ostrava (Moravia), acting under enemy fire, he always delivered hot food supplies to the enlisted men and the officers on the firing positions of the artillery battery.
He deserves order “PATRIOTIC WAR II CLASS”.
