Awarded to Guards Captain Stepan Semenovich Borisenko (Степан Семёнович Борисенко)
For courage and skill in directing divisional fire, remaining under enemy fire to lead operations that destroyed multiple firing points and enemy troops in 1944, and for actions in Germany in 1945, where through reconnaissance, coordination, and precise fire control he ensured the destruction of self-propelled guns, anti-tank weapons, mortar and artillery batteries
This group consists of the following items:
Order of the Patriotic War 1st class #162479
Made of solid gold, silver and enamels. Measures 45.14 mm in height, 43.13 mm in width and weighs 30.5 grams without its screwplate.
In worn condition with substantial enamel loss on the 12. 3 and 5 o’clock rays of the red star. Despite this damage the details remain crisp and even the seperately attached gold hammer and sickle shows it edges perfectly well. The order has never been disassembled and its reverse is free from dings and scratches, The screwpost remains unshortened, and the order includes a well-fitted silver screwplate.
Order of the Red Star #1120210
Made of solid silver and enamels. Measures 49.55 mm in width, 47.69 in height and weighs 30.8 grams without its screwplate. It appears the engraver at the mint made a mistake with the second digit. It was changed from a 7 to a 2.
In excellent condition with problem free enamels and most details of the to the raised areas like the soldier on the center medallion still visible. The order comes with its war time screwplate and its screw has not been shortened.

The group is accompanied by its original order booklet which is in excellent condition. Both awards above are mentioned together with an Order of the Red Banner and another Order of the Patriotic War 1st class which are not present in this lot.
Short excerpt of the citation for the Order of the Patriotic War 1st class:
He received his first Order of the Patriotic War for actions in Germany. During preparations for an operation on the Ina River, he organized reconnaissance of the enemy forward line and established communications with units. During the operation on 01.03.1945, he directed battery fire that destroyed 3 self-propelled guns, up to a platoon of infantry, and suppressed the defensive fire system of the Altenwedel strongpoint. Thanks to his coordination, divisional salvos against Sassenhagen and Müggenhall destroyed a 75-mm gun battery, 3 firing points, and up to a platoon of infantry. On 06.03.1945 the fire system of the Dartz strongpoint was suppressed, and on 10.03.1945 a battery salvo suppressed a mortar platoon and destroyed 2 anti-tank guns in the Friedrichsdorf strongpoint.
Short excerpt of the citation for the Order of the Red Star:
He was awarded the Order of the Red Star for participation in combat on 07.10.1944, when under enemy fire he remained in the division’s battle formations, directed its fire, and supervised the work at the firing position, which resulted in the destruction of up to 6 permanent enemy firing points and up to 40 enemy soldiers and officers.
