Documented Group of a Soviet Order of Glory and a Medal for Bravery
Awarded to Private / Jr. Sergeant Ivan Andreevich Lichak (Иван Андреевич Лычак)
For eliminating 28 (!) German soldiers by the fire of his personal firearms at Hanseberg [at the current Polish-German border]. Being wounded, he continued fighting and holding the hill until the reinforcements arrived

This group consist of the following items:
Order of Glory 3rd class #641986
Made of solid silver and enamels. Measures 46.35 mm in width, 48.56 mm in height and weighs 20.4 grams. The serial number is located on top of its reverse.
This order is in superb, well above average condition with light wear on the higher laying parts only and all details perfectly visible, even the clock in the tower is pristine. The enamel is beautiful without flaking or repairs and only shows some microscopic dings and scratches. The order has a medium dark patina on both sides and its connection ring has been cut.
Medal for Bravery #1039311
Made of solid silver and enamels. Measures 37.50 mm in diameter, 42.69 mm in height including its eyelet and weighs 26.2 grams.
The medals is in great condition with all details present and crisp. The red lacquer is mostly present and without repairs which is quite unusual in this range. The medal shows a medium patina on both sides and its connection ring has not been cut.
Medal for the Liberation of Warsaw
Made of solid silver and enamels. Measures 32.22 mm in diameter and weighs 17.5 grams.
The medals is in excellent condition with most details visible and much gold plating still present.
Medal for the Capture of Berlin
Made of solid silver and enamels. Measures 32.13 mm in diameter and weighs 17.1 grams.
In excellent condition with all details crisp and much gold plating still present.
Medal for the Victory over Germany
Made of solid silver and enamels. Measures 32.19 mm in diameter and weighs 16.7 grams.
In excellent condition with most details crisp and much gold plating still present.

In a nice, problem free condition with all pages present and firmly attached to the cover. It mentions the numbered awards above together with an Order of the Red Star which is not present in this group.

Junior Sergeant, squad commander of 43 separate engineer-explosives company, 37 mechanised “Slutsk” Red Banner Suvorov II class brigade.
Recommendation for order “RED BANNER” :
Having received order to seize the hill 57,5 near the settlement Hanseberg, comrade LICHAK led his squad into the action for capturing the hill 57,5 near the settlement Hanseberg. Despite intensive enemy machine-gun and automatic small arms fire, comrade LICHAK and his squad were advancing forward and captured the hill 57,5. In this action, he eliminated 28 German soldiers by the fire of his personal firearms. Being wounded, he continued fighting and holding the hill until the reinforcements arrived.

Recommendation for medal “FOR BRAVERY” :
In the forced crossing over the rive Ptich, he exhibited courage, bravery, and selfless conduct in the construction of a river crossing site, which assisted our forces in achieving their combat objectives.
He is to be bestowed with medal “FOR BRAVERY”.
