Documented Soviet Group of an Order of Glory and a Medal for the Victory over Germany
To private Fedor Yurievich Gavrin (Федор Юрьевич Гаврин) who served in the 9 plastic division, i.e. Cossack foot rifle unit (picture above)
Awarded for being wounded twice
The group consist of the following items:
Order of Glory #519068
Made of solid silver and enamels. Measures 45.19 mm in width, 47.93 mm in height and weighs 22.0 gram without its suspension. The serial number is located on top of its reverse.
This order is in excellent, above average condition with most details visible. The enamel on the lower banner shows some dings and scratches but no chipping and looks great. The enamel in the small red star is mostly present but shows a chip on the top ray. The order shows an appealing dark patina on both sides and its connection ring has not been cut. The order comes with its time period steel suspension.
The order comes with its award booklet mentioning this award only. All pages are present and firmly attached.
Medal for the Victory over Germany
Made of gold plated brass. Measures 32.19 mm in width, 36.60 mm in height (including its eyelet) and weighs 16.5 gram without its suspension.
The medals is in excellent condition with all details crisp and almost all gold plating present. The brass suspension is time period to the medal.
It comes with its document dated 2 January 1946.
Short translation of his achievements for his Order of Glory:
“Private GAVRIN has been wounded twice. The first time, he was wounded in the back in January 1945. The second time, he was wounded in the head in April 1945.
I recommend him for medal “For Bravery”
