Партизан Александр Васильевич Козловский

 

Awarded to Partisan Alexander Vasilievich Kozlovsky (Александр Васильевич Козловский)

 

For being the first to open machine-gun fire at the Fascists resulting in 17 killed Fritzes. Together with a group of 14 fighters under his command he destroyed a truck, killed 7 traitors and wounded 11 (including the commander of 2nd company of the RODIONOV’s battalion)

 

 

This lot consists of the following items:

 

Partisan Medal 1st class

Made of solid silver. Measures 37.18 mm in height including its eyelet, 32.26 mm in width and weighs 22.6 gram without its suspension.

The medal is in excellent, far above average condition. All details are crisp and there are relatively few dings and scratches. Its connection ring has not been cut and the suspension is time period to the medal.

 

Medal Booklet

In excellent condition with all pages firmly attached and an original picture of Kozlovsky. The Booklet mentions the Partisan Medal and is numbered 032027

 

Order Booklet

In excellent condition with all pages firmly attached and an original picture of Kozlovsky. The Booklet is numbered 821758 and mentions an Order of the Red Banner 85899. Unfortunately this order is not present.

 

 

Short translation of his accomplishment to receive the Partisan Medal:

Chief of Staff of the partisan unit №100, Mogilev region.

“The organisier of the partisan unit, former commissar of the local Red self-defence unit, which was later reorganized into the partisan unit №100.

He is the initiator of the ambush attack near the village Kolbovo by a group of 16 fighters. He was the first to open machine-gun fire at the Fascists. 17 Fritzes killed. On 10.07.194?, he arranged an ambush between the villages Kolbovo and Gogol. The group of 14 fighters under his command destroyed a truck, 7 traitors killed and 11 wounded (including the commander of 2nd company of the RODIONOV’s battalion).

For courage and bravery exhibited in the struggle against the German invaders and for active participation in partisan unit organisation, he deserves medal “Patriotic war partisan I class”. signed MIKHAILOV and BYCHKOV 27 July 1943″
