Soviet Commemorative Badge of MOPR (Society to Help Revolutionaries)

Made of bronze and enamels. The badge measures 38.67 mm in height and 24.74 mm in width and weighs 5.6 gram without and 7.8 gram with its screwplate.

The badge is in decent condition with most details still visible. The red enamel on the top star and handkerchief is mostly lost although a small amount is still present on the star. The badge includes its original screwplate with the text “МЕТАЛИЧ. МАСТ. ПРОИЗВ. БЮРО АК.Х” and its screw has not been shortened.

The International Organization for Assistance to the Fighters of the Revolution (MOPR) was established in November 1922; by the decision of the Congress of the Comintern. In 1948, the organization was dissolved with the transfer of functions and property to the Union of Red Cross Societies. The sign was issued to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the Paris Commune, a working-class government created as a result of the revolution of March 18, 1871.
