Soviet Badge to a Hero of the Revolutionary Movement of 1917- 1918 #11184
Awarded to Shapoladze, D.I. (Шаполадзе Д. И.)
Two layer construction in brass. lacquer and enamels. It measures 47.95 mm in height, 37.23 mm in width and it weighs 20.3 grams without its screwplate. The serial number ‘11184’ and the awardee’s name ‘Шаполадзе Д. И.’ are engraved on its reverse.
The badge is in nice condition with strong wear on its higher laying parts. The red lacquer is partially present but since it is very fragile, most is lot. The ‘hot’ white enamels however are well preserved as they withstand the elements much better; it only shows a minor chip on the top right side next to the flagpole. It comes with its original screwplate and its screw has not been shortened. Despite the wear and loss of lacquer the badge is in a better condition than most we have encountered.
A truly rare and early badge!
