Medal for the Defense of Leningrad 

 

Variation 1b with a ‘Long Horizon’

 

 

Made of brass. Measures 32.02 mm in width, 37.95 mm in height including its eyelet and weighs 16.6 grams without its suspension.

 

In excellent condition with its details still visible and few traces of wear. Both sides show a fair amount of the original luster and a nice light patina. The medal comes with its time period double layer brass suspension and its connection ring has been cut.

 

Awarded to all Soviet military and civilians who participated in the defense of Leningrad between September 1941 and January 1944.
