Soviet Medal for Distinguished Labor #3638
Scarce pre WW2 specimen
Made of solid silver and enamels. Measurements of the medal; 32.01 mm in diameter and 36.24 mm in height (including the eyelet). The eyelet is 4.94 mm wide. Weight; 16.4 gram without its suspension. The reverse shows the stamped letter ‘N’ followed by the hand engraved serial number ‘3638’.
This early pre WW2 medal for Distinguished Labor is in excellent, above average condition with its details visible. Even the higher laying parts show little wear. The enamel on the hammer has become dull over time but there is no flaking or repairs. This specimen was originally handed out with a triangular suspension which was probably replaced by the awardee with a brass suspension due to new regulations of 1943.
