Soviet Medal for the Capture of Berlin variation 1
Medal for the Capture of Berlin: made of gilded brass. Measures 32.28 mm in width; 37.81 mm in height, including the eyelet and it weighs 16.2 gram.
This medal is in a nice but worn condition. Some of the higher laying parts show wear but most details are still visible. Much of the gold plating has worn off during time. The suspension is post war and has been modified to a ‘screw back’ by the awardee.
The Medal “For the Capture of Berlin” was awarded to soldiers of the Red Army, Navy, and troops of the NKVD, direct participants of the assault and capture of the city as well as to the organizers and leaders of combat operations in the capture of this city.
