Soviet Medal for the Defense of Sevastopol Variation 1b-2 WW2
Variation with a raised rim on its obverse and a smaller distance between the ends of the naval cap tally
Medal for the Defense of Sevastopol; made of gilded brass. Measures 32.17 mm in width, 37.18 mm in height, including the eyelet and it weighs 15.9 gram.
This original medal is in outstanding, well above average condition. There are only a few minuscule dings and scratches and all details are crisp. Much of the gold plating is still present and the brass suspension is time period to the medal. Its connection ring has not been cut.
Scarce. Especially in this condition!
This medal was awarded to all participants in the defense of Sevastopol. Both to soldiers and civilians, who took part in the defense of Sevastopol during its siege by German forces.
