Awarded to Jewish Captain agitator Alexander Iosifovich Gershon (Александр Иосифович Гершон)
For boosting morale through meetings and discussions as an agitator. Regularly on the frontlines, he effectively executes assignments, supports political officers, and remains steadfast in challenging combat conditions
Made of solid silver and red lacquer. Measures 32.26 mm in diameter and 2.87 mm in thickness. The height of the medal is 36.48 mm including the eyelet and it weighs 22.8 grams without its suspension. This piece was originally awarded on a rectangular suspension which was replaced by a pentagon shaped one according to new 1943 regulations on wearing Soviet awards.
In nice, above average condition with medium wear to the raised areas and a fair amount of detail still visible. There are several small dings and scratches and over half of the original red lacquer is still present. Its connection ring has not been cut and the medal comes with an early double layer steel suspension.

Since October 1942, serving as an agitator of the Political Department of the Army, Comrade GERSHON has proven himself as a bold and proactive political worker.
Systematically working within the units and formations, Comrade Gershon carries out significant work—organizing meetings and discussions, raising the combat morale of both soldiers and commanders.
Frequently found on the frontlines, he successfully completes all assignments given by the Army’s Political Department and provides substantial assistance to company deputy commanders for political affairs and agitators in their work with soldiers. In difficult combat conditions, he remains steadfast and decisive in achieving assigned objectives.
Deserving of the government award—the medal “FOR COURAGE”.
