Order of Glory 3rd Class #86364

Awarded to Private Mikhail Filippovich Peretyatko (Михаил Филиппович Перетятько)

For killing 40 enemy soldiers with his cannon near the village of Ozalitsi [Latvia]. While repelling enemy counterattacks he was severely wounded but he continued carrying out his combat mission. Only when the enemy counterattack was repelled he left for the medical aid station

Made of silver and enamels. Measures 46.78 mm in width, 48.82 mm in height including its eyelet and it weighs 25.6 grams without its suspension.

This early order is in a nice, about average condition considering it is an early piece. The enamels are fully present without repairs but show several dings and scratches. The raised parts like the tower and the wreath surrounding it show medium wear and covered with a layer of patina. Its reverse shows some dings and scratches and the lettering CCCP and its serial number are still well defined. Its connection ring has not been cut and the order comes with a time period double layer steel suspension.

Short, concrete description of his combat feat or merits:

On August 15, 1944, during the fighting near the village of Ozalitsi in the Latvian SSR, he was severely wounded while repelling enemy counterattacks. Without paying attention to his wound he continued carrying out his combat mission. His cannon killed 40 enemy soldiers. Only when the enemy counterattack was repelled he left for the medical aid station.
