Brief and specific description of the personal combat achievement or merit:

During the Great Patriotic War, Comrade Orlov performed 11 combat missions. In March of this year, he personally completed 7 combat missions to deliver weapons and ammunition to partisans in Belarus in the interests of the 1st Baltic Front.

Comrade Orlov, as a navigator, thoroughly prepared the subordinates under his command for combat missions. Through his own combat sorties, he demonstrated an excellent example of precise aerial delivery, carrying out night operations under difficult weather conditions. Despite strong opposition from night fighters and anti-aircraft defenses, he always directed the aircraft precisely to the target, thereby ensuring the excellent execution of combat tasks.

For successfully leading the squadron’s combat operations and for personal bravery and courage shown during combat tasks, Comrade Orlov is presented for the Order of the Red Banner.
