Order of the Red Banner #526300
Made of solid silver and enamels. Measures 44.94 mm in height including its eyelet, 36.37 mm in width and weighs 24.7 grams without its suspension. The serial number and the mint mark Monetni Dvor are located at the 6 o’clock position of its reverse.
In superb condition. Even the raised areas on the obverse show virtually no wear and the details are all crisp. The red and white enamels are stunning and without repairs and much of the original gold plating is still present although covered by a layer of appealing dark patina. Its reverse is in equally great condition and its connection ring has not been cut. The order comes with its time period double layer alluminium suspension.
The Order of the Red Banner recognized military deeds. Before the establishment of the Order of Lenin, the order functioned as the highest (and practically the only) military order of the USSR. Practically all well-known Soviet commanders became Cavaliers of this Order. Also awarded to NKVD personnel.
