Made of brass. It measures 34.65 in height, 30.02 mm in diameter and it weighs 14.4 grams without suspension.
The medal is in nice condition with light to medium wear with its details still perfectly visible. Both sides show several dings and scratches but none distracting from the overall appeal of the medal. Its suspension is original as is the connection ring and clip-on device.
This medal was awarded to individuals who contributed significantly to Japan’s national census activities, particularly during the Taishō and early Shōwa periods. It served as recognition for those who played a role in organizing, conducting, or assisting with the census, which was an essential task for gathering demographic and economic data in Japan during these times.
