Variation 2 with a U-shaped eyelet as part of the medal
This medal is literally a textbook example for it is portrayed in ‘Soviet Orders and Medals’ by Andrew Reznik (page 222)Â
Made of gold plated brass. Measures 32.31 mm in width and 37.01 mm in height including the eyelet. It weighs 17.7 gram.
This medal for the Liberation of Prague is in excellent condition. All details are still visible and most gold plating is present. The double layer steel suspension is time period to the medal.
Awarded to Soviet service personnel who took part in the liberation of Prague between the 3 and 9 May 1945.
