Medal for the Defense of the Caucasus
Variation 1 with a separately soldered eyelet
Made of brass. The medal measures 32.07 mm in diameter, 37.92 mm in height including its eyelet and weighs 17.3 grams without its suspension.
This medal is in excellent condition with its details perfectly visible on both sides. Even the raised lettering and hammer and sickle still have sharp edges. Its reverse shows some scratches at the 8 o’clock position but is otherwise problem free. The double layer suspension is time period to the medal and its connection ring has been not been cut.
Awarded to all Soviet military and civilians who participated in the defense of the Caucasus region during WW2 between July 1942 and 9 October 1943.Â
