Awarded to Lt. Colonel Petr Andreevich Zhdanov (Петр Андреевич Жданов)
Commander of the 1440th self propelled gun regiment
Made out of silver and enamels. Measures 36.64 in width, 45.80 in height and weighs 24.0 grams without its suspension. A number ‘3’ is visible at the bottom of the front indicating this is the third Red Banner this awardee received. The minimum known serial number for this variation is 5773 and the maximum is 6879.
In a great, well above average condition with details crisp and light overall wear. The red and white enamels are beautiful and show a tiny superficial chip on the 9 o’clock ray of the center star only, barely visible with the naked eye and not penetrating to the silver. All of the gold plating is still present and the reverse shows virtually no dings or scratches. The order comes with its time period double layer steel suspension and there have been no repairs.

His second Red Banner was awarded for inflicting huge losses to the enemy in Hungary. A brief description of his feats here:
The regiment under the command of Lt. Colonel ZHDANOV inflicted the following losses to the enemy in the combat operations near the lake Velence and the town Székesfehérvár during the period of 21-31 December 1944: 2 self propelled guns, 16 tanks of different types, 14 armoured personnel carriers, 3 field guns, 22 machine-guns, 13 trucks, up to 480 enemy troops. On top of that, 2 enemy tanks were damaged and 1 mortar battery was suppressed.
For skilful regiment command and high combat readiness of his troops, for personnel courage and bravery exhibited in the battle near the town Székesfehérvár and the lake Velence, Lt. Colonel ZHDANOV deserves state award order “RED BANNER”
