Scarce variation with a serial number engraved with a rotating tool
Made of silver and enamels. Measures 48.21 mm in width, 46.16 mm in height and weighs 30.0 grams without its screwplate. The mint mark is located above, and the serial number -engraved with a rotating tool- underneath the screw post.
This beautiful order is in near mint condition with all details crisp and an appealing patina to the silver on both sides. The red enamels are absolutely stunning without any dings, scratches or even contact marks. Its screw has not been shortened and the order comes with its well fitted screwplate.
Merits for which he is being recommended for awarding:
On 3 August, 1988, fulfilling his internationalist duty in the Republic of Afghanistan, during combat actions, he came under artillery fire and received a severe wounded in the right army and left calf. He underwent treatment at military unit field post 94777 from 03.08.1988 to 16.08.1988; in the “Burdenko” Central Military Clinical Hospital from 17.08.1988 to 05.09.1988; and from 24.09.1988 to 05.10.1988. Sick voucher No 11151 of 05.10.1988 issued by the “Burdenko” Central Military Clinical Hospital and confirmed by the Central Military Medical Board of the Ministry of Defense of the USSR on 14 October, 1988. After recuperation he was invalided. At present, he is an invalid of the 2nd group.
He is not working. He is characterized positively in his community.
In the matter of awarding Comrade Sorokin Yu. E., the Chainnan of the Ordzhonikidze District Executive Committee of the Communist Party of Ukraine Comrade Golovko V. V. and monitoring agencies are agreed.
For bravery and courage displayed while fulfilling his combat mission to render internationalist aid to the Republic of Afghanistan, he deserves awarding of the Order of the Red Star.
