Variation 1a with a ‘Short Horizon’
Made of brass. Measures 32.21 mm in width, 37.79 mm in height including its eyelet and weighs 17.1 grams without its suspension.
In excellent condition with its details perfectly crisp and most of its original luster still present. Its dark, double layer suspension is typical for Medals for the Defense of Leningrad and time period to the medal and its connection ring has not been cut. Its ribbon is incorrectly folded as is often seen with early WW2 campaign medals.
Awarded to all Soviet military and civilians who participated in the defense of Leningrad between September 1941 and January 1944.
