Awarded to Bomber Pilot Lieutenant Konstantin Erestovich Alasaniy (Константин Эрестович Аласаний)
For flying 201 sorties, throwing 7800 kilograms of air bombs on the manpower and equipment of the enemy. During October-November 1943 alone he destroyed a tank truck with fuel, 4 other vehicles, one apartment building containing 30 enemy soldiers, a radio station and a large number of enemy manpower
Made of silver and enamels. The order measures 48.48 mm in width, 47.28 mm in height and weighs 28.8 grams without its screwplate. The serial number is located at the 6 o’clock position and the mint mark on the 12 o’clock position of its reverse. This early variation has a round base ‘heel’ of the screw.
In excellent, well above average condition with medium overall wear. The details are mostly visible and the enamels are fully present without chipping and show some contact marks and scratches only. The reverse is in nice condition too and its screwpost has not been shortened. It comes with its time period and well fitted silver screwplate.

Comrade ALASANIA has been participating since July 1942 in the active army of the Patriotic War as pilot within the 750th Mixed Army Aviation Regiment. During this period of his military activities, comrade ALASANIA completed 52 night combat missions to bomb the enemy’s manpower and equipment, 27 combat missions for communication and 114 combat missions to carry out special tasks of the Army command. In total, he made 201 sorties. He threw 7800 kilograms of air bombs on the manpower and equipment of the enemy. The effectiveness of the combat work of comrade ALASANIA is well illustrated by the following facts:
From 24th – 25th October 1942 with the bombing of enemy forces in the populated area of Ya-Kurpa, he destroyed a tank truck with fuel, two special vehicles and one apartment building, where enemy soldiers with a strength of up to 30 people were quartered.
On 10/20/1942, by bombing moving enemy troops in the area of Ya-Kurpa, he discovered traffic on the road and destroyed two vehicles of the pontoon park, one radio station and a large number of enemy manpower.
On 11/26/1942, when enemy forces were bombed in the area of Ardon, maneuvering in the enemy’s searchlight and anti-aircraft fire, he destroyed one cartridge point and a trailer with shells by bombing.
When participating in battles, comrade ALASANI shows exceptional courage and bravery, risking his life in the difficult conditions of night flights, skillfully maneuvers in the enemies strong anti-aircraft fire, aggressively searches for the target and hits it. By his personal example of courage, he educates the personnel, mobilizing them to despise death, achieving the exact fulfillment of the assigned task. His technique of piloting is excellent. He never lost orientation. Disciplined. Loyal to the cause of the party of Lenin and Stalin and the socialist motherland.
For exemplary fulfillment of combat assignments of the command, for showing courage and bravery in the fight against the German invaders, Comrade ALASANIA KONSTANTIN ERESTOVICH is worthy of the governmental award, order “RED STAR”.
