Medal for the Capture of Budapest
Early variation without a raised rim on its reverse
Made out of gold plated brass. It measures 32.12 mm in diameter, 37.64 mm in height including its eyelet and the medal weighs 15.7 grams without its suspension.
In excellent condition with its details crisp and a fair amount of the gold plating still present. There are relatively few dings and scratches and even the higher laying parts like the bottom leaves show light wear only. The medal comes with a double layer steel suspension .
Awarded to Soviet service personnel who took part in the battle of Budapest between 20 December 1944 and 15 February 1945.
