Description
Order of the Red Star #391210
Made of silver and enamels. Measures 47.82 mm in width, 46.64 mm in height and weighs 25.7 grams without its screwplate. The mint mark is located above, and the serial number underneath the screw post.
This original order is in worn condition but still shows a fair amount of details on the center medallion. The red enamel shows loss on the 12 o’clock ray of the red star but is otherwise fully present and original. Its reverse is in better condition with only few traces of wear and shows a medium dark patina. Its screw has not been shortened and the screwplate is of a later period.
Probably awarded the second half of 1943. Thus with nice research potential
The Order of the Red Star was given to Red Army and Navy personnel for exceptional service in the cause of the defense of the Soviet Union; in both war and peace. Also awarded for 15 years of service prior to the creation of the long service awards.
