Awarded to air force Captain Moses Matveevich Sterzhakov (Моисей Матвеевич Стержаков)
Capt. Sterzhakov was involved in the Stalingrad Offensive from November to December 1942 for which he received the Medal for the Defence of Stalingrad
Made of solid silver and enamels. Measures 45.18 mm in height including its eyelet, 36.28 mm in width and weighs 24.7 grams without its suspension. The serial number and the mint mark Monetni Dvor are located at the 6 o’clock position of its reverse.
This order of the Red Banner is in about mint condition and shows an attractive medium shine on its reverse. None of the higher parts on the obverse show any wear and the details are all crisp. The red enamel is beautiful and flawless and all gold plating is still present. There are no repairs and the connection ring has not been cut. Its double layer steel suspension is time period to the order as is the ribbon.
