Order of the Red Star #1192622
Made of silver. Measures 49.44 mm in width, 47.58 mm in height and weighs 28.6 grams. The mint mark is located above, and the serial number underneath the screw post.
This order is in worn condition with most enamels being replaced with red lacquer. Only the enamel on the 5 o’clock ray is in tact. The silver medallion featuring the solder shows strong wear although a fair amount of details are still visible. Its reverse is in better condition with the mint mark and serial number perfectly readable. The nut is of a later period and its screw has not been shortened.
Probably awarded late ’44 so with nice research potential
The Soviet Order of the Red Star was given to Red Army and Navy personnel for exceptional service in the cause of the defense of the Soviet Union; in both war and peace. Also awarded for 15 years of service prior to the creation of the long service awards.
