Awarded to Private Efim Yakovlevich Salnikov (Ефим Яковлевич Сальников)
For operations aimed at breaking the blockade of Leningrad at the Battle of Tikhvin
Made of silver and enamels. Measures 40.60 mm in height, 36.52 mm in width and weighs 22.9 grams without its screwplate. Its serial number and mint mark can be found on the bottom of its reverse.
In a nice, about average condition for a screwpback Red Banner. The details are mostly visible although the higher laying parts on the center wreath show medium to strong wear. The white enamels are flawless and about 80% of the red enamel is still present with loss on two rays of the center star and, the left side of the large banner and the left side of the lower banner. Its reverse is in great overall condition with an appealing patina to the silver and few dings and scratches. There have been no repairs or conversions and the screwpost has not been shortened. It also comes with its time period silver screwplate.
The document is in decent overall condition with all pages present. It mentions this Red Banner only. The first page is attached to the booklet with red tape. Apparently done a long time ago.

Brief, concrete description of his feat of arms or achievements:
“Defending the Motherland in the battle for town Tikhvin, he proved himself as a fearless and brave warrior. He and his gun crew moved many times their canon on to an open firing position subjected to enemy fire. They destroyed enemy firing points and pillboxes. After their missions on the open firing positions were accomplished, they also delivered mighty blows from secluded firing positions.
He deserves to be bestowed with order “RED BANNER”.
