Soviet medal for the Capture of Budapest
Variation 1b with a raised rim on its reverseÂ
Made out of gold plated brass. Measures 32.17 mm in diameter, 37.53 mm in height and weighs 16.9 grams in weight without its suspension.
The medal is in excellent condition with crisp details and much gold plating still present on both sides. There are relatively few dings and scratches and its double layer suspension and ribbon are time period to the medal.
Awarded to Soviet service personnel who took part in the battle of Budapest between 20 December 1944 and 15 February 1945.
