Made of silver and enamels. Measures 49.09 mm in width, 47.48 mm in height and weighs 27.6 grams without its screwplate. The mint mark is located above, and the serial number underneath the screw post. The minimum known serial number is 235999 and the maximum is 594967.
This beautiful order is in great, well above average condition with most details crisp. The red enamel is beautiful and without repairs and shows several small contact marks only. The higher laying parts on its obverse show light wear and the order shows a light patina on both sides. Its screw has not been shortened and its silver screwplate is time period to the order.
Probably awarded in the winter of 1943. Great research potential
The Order of the Red Star was given to Red Army and Navy personnel for exceptional service in the cause of the defense of the Soviet Union; in both war and peace. Also awarded for 15 years of service prior to the creation of the long service awards.
