Soviet Order of the Red Star #701392
Made of silver and enamels. Measures 49.15 mm in width, 48.24 mm in height and weighs 29.2 grams. The mint mark is located above, and the serial number underneath the screw post.
In superb condition with most details visible and light overall wear. The red enamels are stunning without repairs and show only a few microscopic contact marks. Its reverse shows an medium dark patina to the silver and is in equally great condition. Its screw has not been shortened and the nut is time period to the order.
Probably awarded during the summer of 1944. Great research potential
The Order of the Red Star was given to Red Army and Navy personnel for exceptional service in the cause of the defense of the Soviet Union; in both war and peace. Also awarded for 15 years of service prior to the creation of the long service awards.
