For opening heavy fire on the superior counterattacking enemy force and killing 10 German soldiers and suppressing the fire of an enemy light machine gun
Made of silver and enamels. Measures 47.15 mm in width, 49.03 mm in height and weighs 23.5 grams without suspension. The serial number is located on top of its reverse.
This order is in a nice, above average condition with light to medium wear to the higher laying parts. Even the details on the tower and the wreath surrounding it are perfectly visible. The red enamels on the top star and lower banner are all present and without repairs and show some flaking and scratches. Its connection ring has not been cut and its double layer steel suspension is time period to the medal.
Brief and specific description of the personal feat or merits
“In the battle for Hill 1411, on March 23, 1945, during the period of repulsing an enemy counterattack, comrade Rogozyansky acted boldly and decisively. Despite the danger that had arisen, when the enemy, with his superior forces, continued to press on our units, comrade Rogozyansky opened heavy fire on the counterattacking enemy, as a result of which he annihilated 10 German soldiers and put the rest to flight. In addition, comrade Rogozyansky suppressed the fire of an enemy light machine gun. For courage and stamina shown in battle, comrade Rogozyansky is worthy of a governmental award – the order of “GLORY OF THE 3rd CLASS”.”
