Soviet Medal for the Defense of Odessa Variation 1 WW2
Made of gilded brass. Measures 32.37 mm in width, 37.87 mm in height including its eyelet and it weighs 17.0 grams without its suspension.
This medal is in used condition with strong wear on its obverse and medium wear to its reverse. There are several dings and scratches and especially the higher laying parts like the wreath lack details. Still, the profiles of the soldiers and some of their details are visible visible and the text around the edge can be read. Its reverse is in better condition and clearly shows the edges of the lettering and the hammer and sickle. The double layer suspension is time period to the medal and its connection ring has been cut.
In worn condition but affordable and original
This medal was awarded to all participants in the defence of Odessa. Both to soldiers and civilians, who took part in the defence of Odessa during its siege by German forces.
