Made of solid silver. The medal for Combat Merit measures 32.42 mm in diameter and 2.29 mm in thickness. The height of the medal is 37.68 mm including the eyelet and it weighs 18.6 grams without its suspension.
In great condition with its details all visible and crisp. Both sides of the medal show relatively few dings and scratches and almost all of the lacquer is still present. It comes with a brass suspension and its connection ring has not been cut.
Most likely awarded the second half of 1944 so with good research potential
This military medal awarded for “combat action resulting in a military success”; “courageous defence of the state borders”; or “successful military and political training and preparation”. Also awarded for 10 years of service prior to the creation of the long service awards.
