Soviet Maternity Medal 1st class
Made out of solid silver and enamels. It measures 29.36 mm in diameter, 34.29 mm in height including the eyelet and weighs 17.5 grams without its suspension.
The medal is in excellent condition with all details crisp. The suspension has problem free enamels and full gold plating.
This decoration was awarded to all mothers who raised 6 children. It was awarded at the first birthday of the last child, provided that the other 5 children remained alive. Children who had died under ‘respectful’ conditions were also counted.
