Soviet Maternity Medal 2nd class
Made out of gold plated brass and enamels. The medal measures 29.02 mm in diameter, 33.79 mm in height including its eyelet and weighs 13.6 gram without its suspension.
In nice condition with all details crisp and most gold plating still present. The suspension is original to the medal and shows a small crack but is otherwise fine.
The Soviet Maternity medal 2nd class was awarded to all mothers raising 5 children. It was awarded at the first birthday of the last child, provided that five other children stayed alive. Children who had died under ‘respectful’ circumstances were also counted.
