Brief description of his feat of arms or achievements:
“In the battles from April 20 to April 24, 1945, to break through the German defenses on the Oder River in the area of the city of STETTIN, Comrade VOLODIN showed courage, bravery and military skill.
On April 20, 1945, after artillery preparation, Comrade VOLODIN crossed over to the left bank of the ODER River with a signal platoon using improvised materials and quickly established a connection between observation posts and firing positions. Communication often broke, especially across the river when the enemy fired heavily at the area where the communication line passed, but despite this, the connection worked smoothly, which made it possible to fire at the counterattacking enemy.
On April 24, 1945, and in the subsequent expansion of the bridgehead and pursuit of the enemy on the west coast, Comrade VOLODIN, following with the battery commanders, skillfully led the organization of communications, constantly monitoring it, often personally going out personally and eliminating line breaks, thanks to which the division had reliable communications and timely fulfilled the requests of the infantry.
By his actions, Comrade VOLODIN contributed to the success of our troops in seizing the bridgehead on the western bank of the Oder River, expanding it and further pursuing the enemy.”
