Description
Soviet Partisan Medal 2nd class with documents
Awarded to female partisan Olga Alexandrovna Sysoeva (Ольга Александровна Сысоева)
Made of gold plated brass. Measures 37.22 mm in height including its eyelet, 32.16 mm in width and it weighs 16.2 grams without its suspension.
This partisan medal is in great condition with a fair amount of gold plating still present and light overall wear only. The lettering, hammer and sickle on its reverse and even the eyelashes of both Stalin and Lenin are very well defined. Both sides show several small dings and scratches but none distracting from the overall appeal of the medal. Its connection ring has been cut and its double layer suspension is time period to the medal.
The following documents are also present in this lot:
- Her order booklet for the Order of the Red Banner #66855 (an unusual high award to a female partisan!). Unfortunately this order is not present in this group
- Belorussian partisan ID containing an original picture
- Belorussian Communist Party booklet containing an original picture
The degree for the Order of the Red Banner can be found in the picture gallery. It reads:
