Soviet Medal for Distinction in the Protection of Public Order
Made of silver plated metal. The medal for Distinction in the Protection of Public Order measures 32.17 mm in diameter and 2.65 mm in thickness at the very edge of the medal. The height of the medal is 37.08 mm (including the eyelet) and it weighs 16.9 gram.
The medal is in very nice condition with crisp details. The medal shows almost no wear apart from the higher laying hammer and sickle on its reverse. Some dark patina has formed around the letters and state coat of arms which indicates some light polishing on the other, shiny parts.
Awarded to members of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MVD) and its Internal Troops for aiding in preserving public order; to all service personnel of the militsiya for courage shown during the liquidation of criminal groups and arrest of criminal; or for excellence in organizing and coordinating militia in combating crime or for selfless acts during the prevention of hooliganism/alcoholism/theft.
