Medal for the Defense of Odessa Variation 1 WW2
Made of brass. Measures 32.16 mm in width, 37.39 mm in height including its eyelet and it weighs 16.9 grams without its suspension.
This medal is in excellent, above average condition with light overall wear and a fair amount of the original luster still visible. There are several dings and scratches on both sides but none distracting from the overall appeal from the medal.Its reverse is in similar condition and clearly shows the edges of the lettering. The double layer suspension is time period to the medal and its connection ring has been cut.
Increasingly hard to find
This medal was awarded to all participants in the defence of Odessa. Both to soldiers and civilians, who took part in the defence of Odessa during its siege by German forces.
