For personally killing two enemy machine gunners, two soldiers while capturing a telephone set and not leaving the battlefield while being wounded

The group consists of the following items:

 

Order of the Red Star #3355744

Made of silver and enamels. Measures 47.93 mm in width, 45.93 mm in height and weighs 31.5 gram without its screwplate. The mint mark is located above, and the serial number underneath the screw post.

The beautiful order is in excellent, well above average condition with almost no wear on its center medallion. The enamels are stunning and without repairs and show a minor ding only on the 3 o’clock ray. The order comes with a well fitted and time period screwplate.

 

Medal for Bravery #490658

Made of solid silver. Measures 37.23 mm in width, 42.13 mm in height including its eyelet and it weighs 28.4 gram.

The medal is in nice condition with light wear on the higher laying parts. All details are crisp but the red lacquer filling the lettering is worn off. There have been no repairs and its connection ring has not been cut. Both sides show an appealing dark patina.

 

Medal for Combat Merit #815854

Made of solid silver. Measures 32.20 mm in diameter, 36.79 mm in height including its eyelet and it weighs 17.6 gram.

The medal is in similar condition as the medal for Bravery with light wear on the higher laying parts. There have been no repairs and its connection ring has not been cut.

 

Medal for Combat Merit #815854

Made of solid silver and enamels. Measures 32.09 mm in diameter, 37.11 mm in height including its eyelet and it weighs 18.8 gram.

The medal is in excellent condition with light overall wear and problem free enamels. on the higher laying parts. Its connection ring has not been cut.

 

Medal for the Defense of the Caucasus

Made of solid silver. Measures 32.21 mm in diameter, 37.02 mm in height including its eyelet and it weighs 17.2 gram.

The medal is in great condition with full gold plating and crisp details. Its connection ring has been cut.

Please note that Lt. Revera engraved his initials ‘R.I.’ on the reverse of his wartime medals for Bravery and Combat Merit 

 


Translation of the citation for the Medal for Bravery #490658:

55. Clerk, 1st Rifle Battalion, Senior Sergeant Revera Ivan Grigorievich, who during the battalion’s hostilities, starting with the breakthrough of the enemy’s defense in the region of Dudkovka, Kharkov oblast, well established and kept records of the availability of personnel and weapons, losses of personnel of the battalion. In the battles for the village of Taranovka and the Shurino crossing, with fire from his machine gun helped the shooters to repulse the enemy’s counterattacks. He personally himself killed two enemy machine gunners, entrenched in houses that hindered the progress, being wounded, he remained in the ranks, keeping records for the entire personnel of the battalion.

 


Translation of the citation for the Medal for Bravery #815854:

11. Clerk, 1st Rifle Battalion, Senior Sergeant Revera Ivan Gordeevich, on the night of 26 October 1943 to 27 October 1943, he was among the first to cross the Dnieper river and fighting to expand the bridgehead on the right bank of the Dnieper, repeatedly participating in repelling enemy counterattacks in a mass with infantry, he destroyed 2 enemy soldiers and captured the telephone set, by his example inspired the soldiers forward to defeat the enemy.
