Soviet Order of the Red Star #673769
Made of silver and enamels. Measures 49.34 mm in width, 47.12 mm in height and weighs 28.9 gram without its screwplate. The mint mark is located above, and the serial number underneath the screw post.
This original order of the Red Star is in worn condition although most details are still visible. The enamel shows loss on the 5 and 7 o’clock rays of the star and a chip on the tip of the 12 o’clock ray. The reverse shows soldering around the screwpost possibly to reinforce the screw to the base. The screw is full length and the order comes with its time period screwplate.
Not in the best condition but low priced and probably awarded in the summer of 1944 so with nice research potential
The Order of the Red Star was given to Red Army and Navy personnel for exceptional service in the cause of the defense of the Soviet Union; in both war and peace. Also awarded for 15 years of service prior to the creation of the long service awards.
