Awarded to Private Nikolaj Nikolaevich Akhmatov (Николай Николаевич Ахматов)
For personally deactivating 43 enemy anti-tank and anti-personnel mines while being under heavy enemy fire. Private Akhmatov was severely wounded during a combat mission on February 5th 1945
Made of solid silver, gold and enamels. The order measures 42.84 mm in width, 44.63 mm in height and weighs 27.1 gram without its screwplate. Its serial number and mint mark are located on the bottom of its reverse.
In excellent condition with crisp details and light overall wear to the silver base. The red and white enamels are problem free without repairs and show some small dings and contact marks on the rays only. It comes with its original, time period screwplate and its screw has not been shortened.
Brief description of his feat of arms or achievements:
“He proved himself to be a brave and courageous soldier in course of the regiment combat operations near the village Lankas, Latvian Soviet Socialist republic, during the period 23-30 January 1945. In the difficult combat circumstances under heavy enemy fire, he personally deactivated 43 enemy anti-tank and anti-personnel mines, which assisted breakthrough of the enemy defence in the sector near the village Lankas, Latvia.
While being on the defence positions, he constantly worked on improving them. On 05 February 1945, he was severely wounded during a combat mission.
Private AKHMATOV deserves state award – order “PATRIOTIC WAR II CLASS”.”
