 Badge to an Honorary Worker of RKM (Main Directorate of the Workers’ and Peasants’ Militia) #378
1917-1932
Made of solid silver and enamels. It measures 39.60 mm in height, 26.43 mm in width and It weighs 13.7 gram without and 17.5 with its screwplate. The reverse shows silver hallmarks ‘XM’ and ‘875’.
The badge is in excellent condition with most details visible and light to medium overall wear. The red enamels are well preserved without flaking or repairs and the blue enamels are problem free apart from a small repair at the centre of the ‘V’. The badge comes with its time period and well fitted silver screwplate and the screw is full length.
A beautiful and rare piece and very hard to find
The badge “Honorary Worker of the RKM” was established in 1932 to the 15th anniversary of the militia. The badge was awarded to particularly distinguished heads of police units and ordinary employees “For the merciless fight against criminal crime.” The badge was awarded by orders of the NKVD of the USSR until November 6, 1940, when the Regulation of the USSR People’s Commissars on the new sign “Honored Worker of the NKVD” was issued.
