Soviet Order of the Red Star #2218969
Made of silver and enamels. Measures 48.37 mm in width, 46.07 mm in height and weighs 31.1 gram. The mint mark is located above, and the serial number underneath the screw post.
This original order is in decent condition with medium to strong wear on the center medallion. The red enamel shows a superficial chip on the tip of the 12 o’clock ray of the star and a deeper one the very tip of the 5 o’clock ray but is otherwise problem free. Its screw has not been shortened and the well fitted nut is time period to the order.
PrMost likely awarded in the the second half ’45 so with nice research potential.
The Soviet Order of the Red Star was given to Red Army and Navy personnel for exceptional service in the cause of the defense of the Soviet Union; in both war and peace. Also awarded for 15 years of service prior to the creation of the long service awards.
