Brief, concrete description of his feat of arms or accomplishments:

“Comrade ZORENKO has been serving in the Navy since 1941 and took part in many engagements in the Azov sea against the German-Fascist invaders. Being assigned as a radio operator to an artillery battery, comrade ZORENKO radioed the target acquisition data to the battery commander and thus ensured precise fire was being laid on the enemy firing positions, vehicles and troops concentrations, tanks, railway trains. The precise fire ensured, that the maximum damage was inflicted with the minimal amount of ammunition spent. In one of these artillery engagements, comrade ZORENKO was severely wounded, but despite that, he continued his transmissions until he was relieved.

After the hospitalisation, comrade ZORENKO served as a radio operator in the 2 Red Banner torpedo boats brigade of the Black Sea Fleet. He provided radio communication channel towards the the torpedo boats during their combat operations.

Comrade ZORENKO participated in the Novorossijsk, Kerch, and Sevastopol operations, providing the command with the radio channel between the torpedo boats and the headquarters.

Comrade radio operator ZORENKO contributed greatly to all these combat successes of our glorious motorboat sailors. He ensured excellent communication between the the motorboats and the higher headquarters.

For courage and bravery in the struggle against the German invaders and providing excellent communication to the headquarters, he deserves state award – “Nakhimov” medal.””
