Medal for the Defense of the Caucasus variation 1

Scarce sub-variation with the soldiers on the tank carrying rifles

Made of gold plated brass. The medal measures 32.06 mm in diameter, 37.51 mm in height including its eyelet and weighs 16.6 gram without its suspension.

This medal is in excellent condition with light to medium overall wear and most gold plating present. There are several small dings and scratches on both sides but most details are still visible. The double layer steel suspension is original and time period to the medal.

Awarded to all Soviet military and civilians who participated in the defense of the Caucasus region during WW2 between July 1942 and 9 October 1943.
