Soviet Medal for the Defense of Sevastopol Variation 1b-2 WW2
Variation with a raised rim on its obverse and a smaller distance between the ends of the naval cap tally
Made of gilded brass. Measures 32.34 mm in width, 37.16 mm in height including the eyelet and it weighs 16.3 gram without its suspension.
This medal is excellent, far above average condition with light overall wear only. There are few dings and scratches and its details crisp. Much of the gold plating is still present and the double layer suspension is time period to the medal. Its connection ring has been cut.
Beautiful example and hard to find in this condition
This medal was awarded to all participants in the defense of Sevastopol. Both to soldiers and civilians, who took part in the defense of Sevastopol during its siege by German forces.
