Soviet Medal for Combat Merit #1499682

Awarded to Petr Semyonovich Dedkin (Петр Семенович Дедкин)

For being wounded 3 times of which one wound was sustained at the battle of Stalingrad. He was stripped of his awards in 1949. It is not known to us if this was due to criminal or political offenses. But since the medal was returned to him (apparently), we assume it was because of the latter.

Made of solid silver. Measures 32.18 mm in diameter and 2.34 mm in thickness. The height of the medal is 37.44 mm including the eyelet and it weighs 18.3 gram without its suspension.

The medal for Combat Merit is in excellent, above average condition with relatively few small dings and scratches. Its details are crisp and over half of the red lacquer is present. Its connection ring has not been cut and both sides show an appealing dark patina.
