Variation 2 with a U-shaped eyelet struck as part of the medal
Made of gold plated brass. The medal measures 32.33 mm in diameter, 36.61 mm in height including its eyelet and weighs 17.4 gram without its suspension.
This medal for the Defense of the Caucasus is in excellent condition with light overall wear. All details are crisp and almost all gold plating is still present. The brass suspension and ribbon are time period to the medal and its connection ring has been cut.
Beautiful piece and hard to upgrade!
Awarded to all Soviet military and civilians who participated in the defence of the Caucasus region during WW2 between July 1942 and 9 October 1943.Â
