Soviet Medal for the 20th Anniversary of the RKKA. 1938
This XX RKKA medal is made of solid silver and enamels. Measures 32.19 mm in diameter, 2.72 mm in thickness at the very edge of the medal and 35.71 mm in height (including the eyelet). It weighs 23.61 gram. The rectangular suspension measures 25.22 mm in width at its narrowest point and 31.09 mm at its widest point. The height of the suspension is 20.42 mm including the eyelet.Â
This original 20th Anniversary of the RKKA medal is in outstanding, well above average condition with all details present. Even the higher laying parts on its reverse show little wear. The soldier’s eyes, fingers and rifle for example, are all visible. The suspension and attachment plate (under the red cloth) are also original and maintain much of the original silver plating.The enamel shows some minor chips at the tips of the red star which are almost unnoticeable with the naked eye. Its screwplate is time period to the medal and also authentic. However, the serial number is hard to read and might not be stamped by the mint.
A superb piece. Rare as such!
